Betty has served Chapin Family Practice and its patients for more than 20 years. She assesses patients and manages their treatment, including their prescription medications, for acute and episodic illnesses, as well as chronic medical conditions. She also orders and interprets laboratory data and performs wound care management, including lacerations, wound closures, wound debridement, lesion excision, and incision and drainage of cystic lesions. She is board certified with additional training in advanced practice, prescriptive authority and controlled-substance prescriptive authority.
A board-certified family nurse practitioner, Lauren has experience providing quality care and education regarding disease management, prevention and health promotion; managing acute and chronic diseases commonly seen in primary care; developing holistic treatment plans for patients, including those with limited resources; ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests; and referring patients for consultations, as needed. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society of Nursing and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners with additional certification in basic life support.
